DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM MADE UP OF CROSS-LINKED HYALURONIC ACID
DERMAHYAL® is a gel made of crosslinked hyaluronic acid of biotechnological origin. The crosslinking agent is UREA. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a fundamental component of the connective tissue and it gives the skin its properties of resistance and ability to maintain its shape. A deficiency of HA leads to the weakening of the skin and may cause the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. Its concentration in the tissues tends to decrease with age, due to the presence of some enzymes, hyaluronidases, which catalyze the degradation of HA chains.
Crosslinked HA is more resistant to enzymatic degradation, remaining undamaged on the cutaneous surface for a lingering period and increasing the hydrating and lifting power of the HA. A large number of active ingredients can be encapsulated in DERMAHYAL®, provided that they are hydrophilic molecules. Fragrances (HYALUSCENT®) can also be included.
